A walk around the harbour has a habit of turning into lunch. Our original Harbourside guide gathered a few options for eating in the area, with our own food photographs along the way.

From our archive

A fresh edit of our original food diary. Photos and visits are from our archive; current menus, offers and opening hours may differ.

A table by the water

The Harbourside is a lovely starting point when you want to wander first and decide on food later. Our cover photo, taken at Under the Stars, is a reminder of why we enjoy ordering a few different plates for the table.

Prawns, arancini and steak all made an appearance in that photograph. There’s something particularly nice about a lunch where everyone gets to try a little of everything.

The original lunch list

Pitcher and Piano, Pieminster, Revolución de Cuba and The Stable featured in our original guide. The list brought together a range of lunch ideas, from pie and mash to pizza.

At The Stable, pizza and cider were the combination that stayed in our notes. Elsewhere, a filling lunch was as much a part of the appeal as finding a table with a view.

Leave a little room to explore

This is a fresh edit of our archive, so we haven’t carried over old lunch prices or limited-time offers. Check current menus with the venues themselves.

Our favourite way to use a guide like this is as a starting point. Pick somewhere that suits the day, take a stroll along the water, and see where your appetite takes you.

Until the next bite,
Harriet & Jon
